The horror movies of the past will remain in the past, so make sure that you are ready to get thrilled by the horror movies 2013. A bunch of horror movies await you so be sure to check out your favorite theaters. For your sneak peek, if not to increase your anxious anticipation, we have created a list of upcoming horror movies.
A thrilling promise is brought to you by the Last Voyage of Demeter. The film brings to life a particular passage in Bram Stoker’s novel Dracula wherein the ship Demeter transports Count Dracula’s coffin to England. What happens when Count Dracula is on board? That is the very reason you should wait for the film to be released. The film is directed by David Slade and the screenplay is written by Bragi Schut based on Bram Stoker’s Novel. Temporary cast includes Noomi Rapace, Ben Kingsley and Jude Law.
After the success of Zombieland 1, Columbia Pictures brings the sequel, Zombieland 2, in 2013. The film is said to use 3D technology to bring the ultimate zombie experience. The first film ended with our main hero having some conflicts about a chick. This time screenwriters Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, and director Ruden Fleischer aim to resolve the chick conflict. The film is currently under development so watch out for very important updates.
Another movie that will keep you in anticipation is 28 Months Later. This is the third installation that completes that series started with 20 Days Later, followed by 28 Weeks Later. The film will probably take place in the major areas of Europe, Africa or Asia after the virus plagued the entirety of United Kingdom. Danny Boyle said in an interview that the story will probably be set in Russia after nothing has been left of the UK. Boyle freely expresses his interest in directing the film, and now that the staff started working on it, you should expect something new from your not-so-typical zombie film. No exact dates about the released has been announced yet so be sure to check 28 Months Later regularly.
Included in the list of horror movies 2013 is Jeepers Creepers 3: Cathedral. Twenty-three years after the events in the first film took place, the main characters will reunite and much to their surprise, the horror returns. The Creeper is to be played by Jonathan Breck and Jack Taggart Sr. will be played by Ray Wise. The cast includes Gina Philips, Luke Edwards, Marieh Delfino, Lauren Bosworth, Brandon Smith, and Kevon Jane. Here, the film will show more about the Creeper, his life as a person and how he came to be the thing that all of the people are afraid to. Deeper understanding about the creature will generate a deeper fear, keeping your heart at its fastest rate.
You should also include the remake of classic horror film the Evil Dead. Film District and Sony Pictures promise to bring the new thrill in April 12 2013; Federico Alvarez will direct the remake and bring out the horror with a new face. After a group of friends discovered the book of the dead in an abandoned cabin, a diabolic force is unleashed. Alvarez will use the script that he co-wrote with Rodolfo Sayagues, with the help of Diablo Cody. Production of the film which is produced by Bruce Campbell, Robert Tapert and Sam Raimi will begin early in 2012.
If you are a fan of the monster genre and graphic novels, you will surely love I, Frankenstein. I Frankenstein is based on Kevin Grevioux’s graphic novel which is a modern adaptation of the classic creature in Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein’s Monster. Grevioux is famous for his Underworld series which were also adapted into film. Surely, you will outgrow child’s play. But Chucky will not outgrow you, that is why you should expect Child’s Play in 2013. The plot revolves around the original theme of the story wherein a serial killer, named Charles Lee Ray, transferred his soul to a doll. Andy received that doll as a gift and became the serial killer’s new target to which he must transfer his soul. The story is a remake of the original film which was directed by Tom Holland based Don Mancini’s original story was released in 1988. The remake was rumored to have started its production as early as 2007 but due to unannounced reasons, filming of the movie has not started yet. Another film on the line up of upcoming horror movies 2013 is the Diary of Lawson Oxford. Over time, the earth reclaimed the place but the remnants of its past residents remain to accompany the characters and serve as the hosts to the unknowing visitors. The film is directed by Brad Parker and produced by Brian Witten and Oren Peli. The cast includes Jonathan Sadowski, Devin Kelly, Jesse McCartney, Olivia Taylor Dudley, Nathan Philips, Ingrid Bolso Berdal and Dimitri Diatchenko.
Horror movies 2013 feature monsters, zombies, and dolls. But the list does not end there because you will get to experience ghosts as well in the remake of a 2007 Spanish film, The Orphanage. The story revolves around Laura who dreams of restoring the orphanage where she grew up. But as she delves deeper in to her mission, a lot of strange things happen to her child. She seeks the help of paranormal experts and discovers a dark and terrifying truth. The story is written by Guillermo del Toro and Larry Fessenden. The film is directed by Mark Pellington. Cast and release dates are yet to be announced.
